Drinking Dad’s dinner

Rick Bonino

We hope all you dads out there are getting good things to eat and drink today. And to help extend the celebration (why stop at a single day?), here are a couple of culinary craft beer options over the coming week:

– Clover keeps the party going on its patio Tuesday starting at 6:30 p.m. with its upscale six-course Dad’s Day Dinner, featuring local lagers from Orlison.

The menu includes tuna tartare with watermelon, accompanied by Havanuther pilsner; a grilled asparagus and smoked chicken salad with IPL India pale lager; chili/maple-lacquered pork rib and grits with Lizzy’s Red; duck confit sopes with mole sauce and succotash, paired with Shut Up and Rye’d rye IPL; foie gras and French toast with 2 Finger Pour (styled after an Old Fashioned cocktail); and specialty s’mores with coffee-infused Roast House Stout.

Cost is $60 per person; call (509) 487-2937 for reservations.

– Tamarack Public House offers a dinner special featuring beers from Big Barn and Twelve String on Thursday from 4 to 9 p.m.

For $25, you get a choice of lamb sliders or a Mediterranean lamb plate with hummus and focaccia, both with meat braised in Big Barn’s Mountain Smoke Porter; a brownie made with Twelve String’s Drop D Stout, accompanied by homemade vanilla bean ice cream; and a pint of beer from either brewery.

Along with the porter and the stout, beer selections will include Big Barn’s Peone Wheat and Bodacious Blonde, and Twelve String’s Mango Mambo hefeweizen and Rhythmic RyePA.

This is a Yelp Supper Club event, but is open to the general public as well. For more information call (509) 315-4846.
