Friday’s openings: a comic superhero to embrace

Yeah, "Avengers: Infinity War" keeps breaking records, blah-blah-blah. But this coming Friday is the superhero film I've been waiting for. The national movie-release schedule looks like this:

"Deadpool 2": The self-aware comic actions of the flawed superhero (played by Ryan Reynolds) return, this time to face the villain Cable (Josh Brolin). Let the jokes begin.

"Book Club": Four friends (Candace Bergen, Jane Fonda, Diane Keaton and Mary Steenburgen) find that an erotic potboiler helps spice up their respective lives. If you know what I mean.

"Show Dogs": A study Rotweiler police dog is assigned to provide security at a posh dog show. Two paws up for canine comedy.
