Friday’s openings: Women in jeopardy

Dan Webster

Some intrigue, and maybe a bit of ultra-violence, involving women characters is on tap for the upcoming movie week. Friday's scheduled national movie releases are:

"All I See Is You": When a blind woman (Blake Lively) regains her sight, she begins to see what her husband has been up to. Oh, snap.

"American Assassin": When his girlfriend is killed by terrorists, a young guy (Dylan O'Brien) turns to violence and is recruited by the CIA. Nice retirement package.

"Mother!": When strangers begin to congregate in their tranquil home, a couple (Jennifer Lawrence, Javier Bardem) faces domestic issues. Key phrase: Written and directed by Darren Aranofsky.

As usual, I'll update as the local listings get finalized.
