The Randall has returned to River City, with River City Red through hazelnuts and coffee beans this weekend.

 

UPDATES THURSDAY 9/8

– Orlison has released the first local fresh-hop beer of the season, a light-bodied Centennial pale.

– Perry Street is pouring a beefed-up Citra Dust version of its usual double IPA, liberally dosed with lupulin powder.

– Black Label has tapped a smooth, malty California Common (think steam beer) style Common Common.

– Hopped Up, meanwhile, is serving a sweet-tart Raspberry Sour.

– A double IPA is today's weekly small-batch release at Daft Badger.

 

UPDATE TUESDAY 9/6

– Iron Goat comes to the Coeur d'Alene Growler Guys for a tasting Friday from 4 to 7 featuring Cherry Sour, Garbage Pale, Head Butt IPA and Goatmeal Stout.

 

A look at the upcoming week in local craft beer:

MONDAY

– Hillyard is No-Li's LocALE Monday neighborhood of the month for September; get a souvenir pint glass with a snifter purchase of Wrecking Ball imperial stout on Mondays from 5 to 8 p.m. (with trivia from 6 to 7).

– Tacoma's Wingman is brewery of the month at Nectar Wine and Beer, with Lime Gose, Aurora Mixed Culture Brett saison, Ace Belgian-style IPA, Prop Wash IPA and Coconut P-51 Porter on tap.

WEDNESDAY

– Pilgrim's presents a free Firestone Walker tasting at 3:30 p.m. including Oaktoberfest lager, DBA pale, Luponic Distortion IPA and Helldorado blonde barleywine. 

THURSDAY

– Beer Valley takes over four taps at Enoteca from 5:30 to 7:30 with Pigskin pale, Green Cross IPA, Leafer Madness imperial IPA and Black Flag imperial stout.

– Downdraft launches its new Open Mic Night at 6.

FRIDAY

– The Lantern Tap House's third annual Sour Fest from 4 to 10 p.m. features 24 sour beers and six ciders over two days along with games, live music and food specials; drink tokens are $1 each, with a four-ounce pour for two tokens or 10 ounces for five.

– Daft Badger is the guest for this week's Brews Cruise on Hayden Lake from 6 to 8, with All Hucked Up huckleberry ale, Badger's Bounty and Summer Envy IPAs, Scotchy Scotch Scotch and Josiah's Revenge imperial stout; tickets are $39, which includes beer samples and hors d'oeuvres.

SATURDAY

– The hop-picking party for Iron Goat's annual Spo-Hop community fresh hop beer runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the patio, with music by Wyatt Wood; bring your own hops or just come and help harvest.

– Also downtown, the Steam Plant's Blues & Brews Festival from noon to 5 includes beers from New Belgium, New Boundary and Orlison along with the house offerings, plus live music and food trucks. Tickets are $10/adults (includes two drink tokens), $5/under 21, $20/family of four; a portion of proceeds benefits Big Brothers Big Sisters.

– Bellwether has a release party from 2 to 8 for its Wind on Sea spruce Scotch ale (aging since April), along with cigar pairings by Bulldog Pipe and Cigar.

– The Lantern Tap House's Sour Fest continues from 2 to 10 p.m.

– Elysian, Georgetown, Hopped Up, No-Li and River City will be pouring in the beer garden for Restaurant Wars from 4 to 8 at Kendall Yards ($5/pints or flights of 4-ounce IPAs), along with small plates from eight area eateries (all for $17), chef demonstrations and live music. 

– The Coeur d'Alene Casino wraps up this summer's Music, Micros and BBQ series with an assortment of beers from Eastern Washington, Oregon and California; all-you-can eat barbecue ($18) runs from 5 to 9, with music by Junk Belly from 7 to 10. 

SUNDAY

– Downdraft kicks off the NFL season with a party from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. including Whitestone Grill food and football trivia with prizes.
