Craft Beer Week: Tuesday

Rick Bonino

OK, we survived Day One of Spokane (and American) Craft Beer Week, let’s do it all over again today.

Here’s a rundown of what Tuesday has in store for us; check back through the day for late-breaking updates. (And thanks much to all who came out for our On Tap kickoff party at Perry Street last night.)

– Twelve String is serving its last three anniversary beers – Volume 2 Cascadian dark ale, Volume 3 imperial red and Volume 4 whiskey barrel-aged barleywine – as well as 2013 Dry Fly barrel-aged Electric Slide imperial IPA and cognac barrel-aged Grapefruit Sour from 3 to 9 p.m.

– Bellwether offers a flight of five beers with accompanying dessert pairings by Batch Bakeshop from 4 to 8 p.m. ($20), and taps its Dr. G’s hopped American gruit collaboration with Mad Bomber (brewed with rye, rosemary, sage, lemongrass and black pepper).

– Perry Street reprises last year ’s Night of the Living Kolsch ($2 for 12-ounce pours, $3 for pints) and introduces its new Taco Tuesdays (two for $5).

– Orlison’s monthly Community Pint Night benefits Camp Stix, with $1 from every pint sold between 5 and 9 p.m. supporting the summer camp for children with diabetes.

– No-Li will pour its American Craft Beer Week imperial porter (a recipe also being made by more than 100 other craft breweries across the country) for Brewsday Tuesday from 5:30 to 7:30.

– A firkin of River City’s passionfruit pineapple golden ale will be tapped at The Lantern starting at 6.

– English Setter releases its Elderberry Kolsch collaboration with Big Barn ($3.50 pints all week).

– Black Label has $4 pint specials on its Honey Spice downtown collaboration cream ale.

– Selkirk Abbey has tapped its North Idaho collaboration beer with Daft Badger, Downdraft, Laughing Dog and Slate Creek, a 5 Chimneys blend of dark ales from each brewery.

– The Area 51 taphouses at both the downtown and North Side Onion Bar & Grill are holding a local IPA competition all week, with voting on blind taste-test samplers of entries by Bellwether, Big Barn, Orlison, Perry Street, River City, Waddell’s, Wallace and Whistle Punk.

– Manito Tap House is featuring a cellar release of North Coast’s Old Rasputin XVIII rye imperial stout, along with a No-Li tap takeover from 5 to 7 featuring whiskey barrel-aged Tandem imperial red.

– The 2015 Cuvee des Jacobins Rouge sour is today’s specialty pour at The Blackbird.

– Steady Flow Growler House and Waddell’s Brewpub have local tap takeovers all week (with a special beer-infused fresh sheet menu at Waddell’s), along with weeklong beer specials at Laughing Dog and the Steam Plant.
