Shandy town

UPDATE THURSDAY 6/23

– No-Li is pouring four of the specialty beers it took to last weekend's Washington Brewers Festival – Summertime McLovin' strawberry kettle sour, BJ Cream Dream (Big Juicy IPA infused with orange and vanilla), sour-dosed Winter Rewind winter warmer aged in Malbec barrels, and Black Ball (whiskey barrel-aged, coffee-infused Wrecking Ball imperial stout) – on its patio today from 5 to 8.

No-Li and the other local Washington Beer Awards winners weren’t the only area breweries making a big impression at last weekend’s Washington Brewers Festival.

Pullman’s Paradise Creek poured the second-most beers – a total of 4,190 – during the three-day event at Marymoor Park in Redmond. It attracted long lines all weekend for the popular Huckleberry Pucker Shandy, a lemonade-spiked version of its regular tart, fruity Berliner Weisse.

Iron Goat (3,005) and Twelve String (2,993), perennial favorites at the festival, finished eighth and ninth in the token count, respectively.

Tacoma’s hot Triplehorn Brewing topped the list with 4,519 pours. Hometown Redmond breweries Black Raven and Postdoc were third and fourth, with Seattle’s Fremont rounding out the top five.

No-Li was named Large Brewery of the Year and won five individual medals in the Washington Beer Awards, which were judged earlier in the month and announced at the festival. River City, Waddell’s and Big Barn were the other Spokane-area winners.
