Some Juicy gossip

Rick Bonino

No-Li today announced the upcoming release of its second canned beer, Big Juicy IPA.

Mellower, fruit-forward IPAs, some containing actual fruit, are a growing trend among craft brewers. Big Juicy (6.1 percent alcohol by volume, 55 International Bitterness Units) will get its flavor profile from a combination of four fruity hops.

The brewery’s description reads: “Bright citrus and tropical fruit hop aromas lead the way. A light malt foundation provides a platform for Citra, El Dorado, Belma and Azacca tropical and citrus flavors to shine.  Mellow bitterness just balances the fruity notes in this hop forward, golden-colored IPA.”

Big Juicy will join No-Li’s flagship Born & Raised IPA in six-packs of 12-ounce cans. Like Born & Raised, it will be produced and packaged at Orlison’s facilities in Airway Heights through a joint agreement between the brewers.

Look for it to reach the market in early April.
