A look ahead at the upcoming week in local craft beer:

– The latest in Elysian's seasonal Manic IPA series – Breakbeat IPA, brewed with Mandarina and Equinox hops – will be pouring in a release party Tuesday from 5 to 7 at Hugo's on the Hill.  

– The Steam Plant and Big Barn on Wednesday will each release their collaboration fresh hop beer, a Midnight Harvest Cascadian dark ale brewed largely with Cascades grown at Big Barn’s farm on Green Bluff.

Pilgrim’s in Coeur d’Alene hosts Sierra Nevada for a tasting Wednesday at 3:30 p.m., including Estate Harvest Wet Hop IPA (made with hops grown by the brewery), Northern Hemisphere Harvest Wet Hop IPA, Harvest Experimental Hop Ale, Olivia Abbey Quad and Narwhal Imperial Stout.

– Iron Horse is the guest for this week’s Meet the Makers event Wednesday from 5 to 7 at Area 51 Taphouse in the North Side Onion.

– Orlison will pair its craft lagers with locally roasted Roast House coffees at the taproom Wednesday from 5 to 8, then launch a weekly New Beer Thursday series of limited and experimental releases the following day.

– Twelve String, which recently signed with Click Distributing East, will mark its entry into the Coeur d’Alene market with a six-tap takeover at Crafted on Thursday at 5, with owner/brewer Terry Hackler on hand and swag giveaways.

– The Brew Battle: Beer Me Blind class Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Valley and North Spokane Total Wine stores will offer blind tastings of the same style beers from different breweries; cost is $15.

– No-Li launches its new seasonal Copper Donkey, brewed with lime peel and ginger to mimic a Moscow Mule cocktail, with a release party Friday from 5 to 7; buy a pint and keep the souvenir glass.

– Laughing Dog will be featured in a tasting Friday from 4 to 7 at the Spokane Valley Total Wine.

– Cheney’s New Boundary Brewing holds its Octoberfest on Friday and Saturday, with 20-ounce pours for $3 with the purchase of a limited-edition mug, plus German music and food, bobbing for apples and raffle prizes.
