SCBW: Day 4

Rick Bonino

Today’s Spokane Craft Beer Week schedule eases up just a bit, so you can catch your breath before things gear up for the weekend.

But there’s still plenty to keep you busy if you so choose:

– Twelve String is hosting six fellow breweries for a Guest Tap Night, starting at 5 p.m., featuring area brewers and some of their more distinctive creations.

Look for last year’s ninth anniversary ale from Laughing Dog, a Belgian-style Tripel Squared aged in chardonnay barrels; the tart Huckleberry Pucker from Paradise Creek; whiskey barrel-aged Rise & Grind oatmeal/coffee/milk stout from No-Li; Iron Goat’s Cap’n Kidd Scotch ale aged in Oola bourbon barrels; Waddell’s Connie Mack Reserve, a strong ale conditioned over bourbon-soaked oak chips; and Ramblin’ Road's Mosey On, a Belgian golden strong aged in cabernet and merlot barrels with apricots, lactobacillus and Brettanomyces.

Twelve String also will be pouring a pair of its own specialties, whiskey barrel-aged Volume 1 anniversary imperial IPA, and a soured, barrel-aged Electric Slide IPA.

– Meanwhile, The Lantern will tap a dry-hopped firkin of Twelve String’s Volume 3 third anniversary imperial red at 4 p.m.

– Across the street, Perry Street Brewing celebrates this very blog with an On Tap night from 5 to 9 p.m. featuring brewery tours at 5 and 6, pint discounts and marketing representatives from Spokane7.com on hand with swag giveaways and prize pack raffles.

– Black Label’s flavor-infused Randall for the day is American Wheat through raspberries.

– English Setter’s “Welcome to the Dark Side” offers all-day discounts on its amber, brown and porter taps.

– River City’s tap takeovers continue at the Hub Tavern from 4 to 7 p.m.

– Total Wine tastings from 4 to 7 p.m. feature Full Sail at the North Spokane store, and 10 Barrel at the Valley location.

And in ongoing offerings throughout the week:

– Hopped Up is serving specialties including a Carolina Reaper chili beer, sweet-tart sour blackberry stout, double-hopped Mad Hopper IPA and rotating Quality Cream ales infused with raspberry, cantaloupe and lemon.

– All-local beers are pouring at the Lantern and the Hop Shop.

– The South Hill Growler Guys is featuring beers from the greater Inland Northwest Ale Trail, with several also on tap at the North Side location.

– Manito Tap House is pulling out rare and cellared kegs all week long.

– Perry Street is offering flights of three artisan cheeses and three beer samples.
