Hazy shade of Schweitzer

Rick Bonino

Now that spring has arrived (calendar-wise, anyway), it’s time for Winterfest at Schweitzer Mountain Resort.

The annual end-of-season celebration Saturday at the ski area north of Sandpoint (which has been getting some snow this week) will feature a dozen beers and ciders on tap starting at 11 a.m. outside on the patio under the Taps Deck, weather permitting.

The lineup includes:

- Downdraft’s Exit 5 Brown

- Elysian’s Superfuzz Blood Orange Pale Ale and Space Dust IPA

- Firestone Walker’s Union Jack IPA

- Goose Island IPA

- Kootenai River Huckleberry

- Ninkaski’s Vanilla Oatis Stout and Lux Helles Lager

- Odell Isolation Ale

- River City Riverkeeper IPA

- Square Mile’s Spur & Vine Hopped Apple Cider

- Stella Artois Cidre

Cost is $10 for a souvenir glass and four taste tokens. Additional tokens are $2 each, with full pints available for $5.

The Dimestore Prophets will provide live music inside the Taps Lounge from 1 to 6 p.m.

Saturday also is Schweitzer’s Passholder Appreciation Party, with a raffle, silent auction, awards and other specials for season passholders.
