  • My husband and I took a hike on the Iller Creek Loop trail for our anniversary (October 10th) and stumbled upon a 50-foot section along both sides of the trail where the trees and leaves were bustling with ladybugs. We'd never seen so many ladybugs in our lives! It was a surreal experience to see these shifting masses of orange on most surfaces and upon closing our eyes noticed the congregation had a collective noise, like the crackling sound rice cereal makes once milk is added. My husband said there was a very recognizable smell too, but my olfactory sense was COVID impaired. I believe we happened upon a ladybug orgy!
