Dates announced for big-budget movie openings

Dan Webster

Now that it appears we're on the brink of at least some movie theaters reopening, let's look at scheduled — or at this point at least tentatively scheduled — release dates.

According to Fandango, you can expect to see some of the most highly anticipated films as follows:

"Mulan" (July 24): The Disney live-action adaptation of its 1998 animation film focuses on a young Chinese woman who masquerades as a man to fight in her father's place.

"Tenet" (July 31): Christopher Nolan's latest stars John David Washington as an intelligence operative involved in an other-worldly kind of international espionage.

"Antebellum" (Aug. 21): Janelle Monáe stars as a 21st-century woman who gets mysteriously trapped in the pre-Civil War past.

"A Quiet Place Part II" (Sept. 4): Taking up where the 2018 original left off, the remaining members of the Abbott family struggle to survive new challenges.

"The French Dispatch" (Oct. 16): Wes Anderson's latest, a typically quirky look at the stories contained in a fictional 20th-century French city.

"No Time to Die" (Nov. 25): Daniel Craig returns for another adventure as the British spy James Bond.

Those are just some of the highlights. Click on the Fandango link to see more.
