Capone's Pub & Grill (Post Falls)
315 N. Ross Point Rd., Post Falls, ID
Anyone familiar with the original Capone’s in Coeur d’Alene will feel right at home in the Post Falls location – which opened 15 years later, in 2006 – from the beer labels and baseball cards under the laminated bar and table tops, to the gloves and tap handles hanging from the ceiling, to the 41 taps full of local and regional craft beers, to the menu of appetizers, pizzas and sandwiches on house-baked bread. What’s impressive, if bittersweet, is that Tom and Teresa Capone had to re-create the atmosphere not just once, but twice, after an arson fire set by a rival restaurant owner destroyed the previous structure in 2007. The result is more open and airy than the Coeur d’Alene location, but with the same sports-bar vibe, from the “Stadium Entrance” sign at the doorway to a championship banner for Tom’s beloved Boston Red Sox.
