And the SpIFF 2019 awards go to …

Dan Webster

If you attended the recently completed 2019 Spokane International Film Festival, you might have an opinion about what was the best narrative, documentary or short film that you saw.

Many who attended did, both among the regular festival attendees and among those who determined the SpIFF juried awards (note: As a member of SpIFF's board of directors, I served on the awards jury).

You can access the entire list by clicking here. But the highlights are:

Juried awards: Best Narrative Feature went to the Hungarian film "Jupiter's Moon," while Best Documentary Feature  was awarded to the Northwest-made "Enormous: The Gorge Story."

Audience awards: Best Narrative Feature went to the French-Belgian film "Promise at Dawn," while Best Documentary Feature was awarded to the U.S.-made "Time for Ilhan."

Just goes to show you, yet again, that everyone's a critic.
