SpIFF 2019: Stories from around the world

Dan Webster

We've reached the penultimate day of the 2019 Spokane International Film Festival, and tonight's program offers a purely international flavor. Both screenings are at the Magic Lantern Theatre.

7 p.m. — World Shorts: Seven short films from China, Germany (set in Turkey), Armenia, Israel, Greece and the United Kingdom offer a range of worldly experiences.

7:30 p.m. — "Ulysses and Mona": A young art student confronts a reclusive older artist and the experience forces each of them to take a closer look at their lives. In French with English subtitles.

Note: As always, the theaters at the Lantern are small (99 seats in the larger house, 33 in the smaller) and so tickets are limited.
