UPDATE FRIDAY 6/1: The price has been reduced to $195 ($175 for EWU alumni).

If you're interested in brewing beer, serving beer or just learning more about your favorite beverage, Eastern Washington University has a class for you.

The school's Professional and Continuing Education Program is offering a Craft Beer Appreciation Course on June 9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Mountain Lakes Brewing in downtown Spokane.

It will cover everything from beer history and styles to the brewing process and ingredients to beer service and proper glassware, and is intended to help prepare participants for the Certified Beer Server exam through the national Cicerone Certification Program.

The course will be led by EWU senior lecturer Chris Cindric, a homebrewer and craft beer enthusiast, and professor Tim Hilton, co-owner of Mountain Lakes.

The cost is $295 ($250 for EWU alumni), which includes beer tastings, lunch and a commemorative glass, certificate and certification pin.

You must be 21 or older to attend. For more information, call (509) 359-6060 or email ce@ewu.edu.
