- Spokane-based North By Northwest Entertainment follows three teams through Hoopfest 2003, capturing the diverse feel of the biggest three-on-three basketball tournament in the world. A too-upbeat narration and musical score that feels like canned emotion detracts from the film's attempt to delve below the surface of this annual event. Neither a promotion nor true documentary, the film does end up providing personality, disappointment, controversy and, ultimately, excitement. It's no "Hoop Dreams," but what is?
