Quick review:
Director Peter Berg and star-producer Mark Wahlberg who collaborated on “Lone Survivor” and “Deepwater Horizon,” reunite for yet another epic, fact-based film about a recent American disaster with a beautifully-realized, meticulously-detailed chronicle of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing and the days-long manhunt for the terrorists that followed. Despite its realist detail, this is anything but realism: The filmmakers refuse to explore the context of the events they portray, filtering the whole thing through drippy sentimentality. Costars John Goodman, JK Simmons, Michelle Monaghan, Kevin Bacon.
