“Fides et Ratio (Faith and Reason): Twenty Years Later”

Archbishop of the Catholic Diocese of Spokane, Archbishop Chaput will speak on the actual anniversary of the encyclical. A member of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Tribe, Chaput is the first Native American archbishop in the United States. John Paul II appointed him bishop of Rapid City, South Dakota in 1988. He was consecrated archbishop of Denver in 1997 and then of Philadelphia in 2011. The archbishop is also a prolific writer. His most recent book is “Strangers in a Strange Land.”
