Uranium in Groundwater in Northeastern Washington
Sue Kahle from the U.S. Geological Survey will discuss the completed a study of uranium in groundwater in northeastern Washington to make a preliminary assessment of naturally occurring uranium in groundwater. Uranium is associated with granitic and metasedimentary rocks, as well as younger sedimentary deposits, that occur in this region. Sue will present the results of the study including available uranium concentration data from throughout a multi-county region and ideas for further study aimed at understanding the occurrence of uranium and other radiochemical constituents in groundwater. Lecture to take place in the SCC Lair Auditorium.
