American Idealist tells the story of Sargent Shriver, an activist who worked to combat poverty and injustice by inventing a string of social initiatives that shaped an era and dared millions of young Americans to live out their ideals, such as Peace Corps, VISTA, and Head Start. Following the film presentation, volunteers from the Peace Corps will be present to discuss Sargent Shriver’s work and life.
