March 23-25. Northwest Opera ends its eighth season with this musical adaptation of the ancient Greek comedy, “Lysistrata.” Written after the Athenian defeat at Syracuse during the Peloponnesian War, the themes of the play deal with big confrontations: male and female, peace and war. On the surface the play is light-hearted and melds beautiful singing and wonderful acting. Showtime is Friday-Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.
