Bring your lunch and enjoy a discussion with Sam Mace from Save Our Wild Salmon. His talk is entitled “Restoring the Lower Snake River: Restoring a River for Fish, Wildlife, Recreation, and Economic Development.” Sam will discuss the status of efforts to restore the lower Snake River with dam removal. The benefits of these aging dams are declining while the cost of keeping them are growing. Planning for a free-flowing river is beginning, to envision what 140 miles of free-flowing river and 14,000 acres of reclaimed land can bring eastern Washington and northern Idaho.
