Jan. 31. Presented by Eastern Washington University and Providence Health Care. Patrick Kennedy, a former member of the U.S. House of Representatives and longtime advocate for health care reform related to preventive care and the treatment of mental illnesses, will lead a community conversation about the importance of mental health in our region and our nation. In his remarks, Kennedy will explain why the healthcare system needs to adapt to better accommodate mental health care, the underlying public policy imperatives of parity and why we need to invest in innovation. A panel discussion will follow.
