VUCC is sponsoring this workshop to make reusable sanitary hygiene kits for women and girls around the globe. If you can trace a simple pattern, iron, cut shapes, sew, pull a ribbon through a casing, or fold fabric, we need you! There are jobs for everyone. Bring sewing scissors (with your name on them) and your sewing machine or serger if you wish to sew, but there are many simple tasks that don’t require sewing, so don’t feel like you need to sew if you don’t want to. Donations are optional, but if you choose to contribute, we need girls’ cotton brief size 8, 10, 12 in bright colors but no prints, brightly colored washcloths, and Ziploc brand gallon freezer bags (must be Ziploc, not slider bags). Also bring a simple finger food to share for lunch or snacking and a positive attitude!
