Sept. 14. The Washington State University College of Nursing will host Angela Barron McBride, a longtime nursing-industry leader and author, as the 20th Annual Cleveland Visiting Scholar. McBride will discuss strategies for learning and maintaining optimism at different stages of a career and how a positive attitude can help shape events. McBride is the former dean of the Indiana School of Nursing and former president of the American Academy of Nursing. She’s known for her contributions to women’s health and psychiatric-mental health nursing. The Cleveland Visiting Scholar Lecture was founded in 1997 to honor Thelma Cleveland, the longest-serving dean of what’s now called the WSU College of Nursing. The reception begins at 5 p.m. with hors d’oeuvres and a no-host bar with the lecture beginning at 6 p.m. To reserve your seat, please visit or call (509) 324-7339.
