March 22. Spokane Public Radio hosts a forum on Suicide Awareness moderated by SPR’s Steve Jackson. The discussion will touch on suicide prevention, mental health and Washington state’s Death with Dignity Act. Panelists work with a range of organizations including Survivors of Suicide, Frontier Behavioral Health, End of Life Washington, and the Post Falls Police Department as well as experts from Washington’s Department of Corrections and Spokane Public Schools. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own questions. SPR has a history of presenting public-interest forums since 1994, exploring topics such as sleep disorders, alternative medicine, breast cancer, autism and diabetes. The forum will broadcast on KPBX 91.1 FM, KSFC 91.9 FM and City Cable 5 at a later date. The forum will also be available on-demand at SpokanePublicRadio.org.
