Urban Farming Classes

Spokane County Library District offers classes in urban farming, from turning your lawn into food to container vegetable gardening, from beekeeping to raising chickens within city limits. Programs are presented by the WSU Master Gardner Program, the West Plains Beekeepers Association, and S&P Homestead Farm. Feb. 28, 6:30-7:30 p.m.: Garlic- and Herb-Infused Oils, Fairfield Library. Introduction to Raising Chickens: Otis Orchards Library (March 4, 10:30-11:30 a.m.), Airway Heights Library (March 25, 2-3 p.m.), Medical Lake Library (April 19, 6:30-7:30 p.m.). March 19, 2-3 p.m.: Lawns to Food, North Spokane Library. March 25, 2-3 p.m.: Container Vegetable Gardening, Cheney Library. April 26, 6:30-7:30 p.m.: 3 Sisters Native American Gardens, Moran Prairie Library. April 30, 2-3 p.m.: Plot Gardening, Cheney Library.
