Museum history and collection curators Marsha Rooney and Valerie Wahl and collections volunteer Dana Bowne provide a close-up viewing and discussion in a small group setting of some of the remarkable historic stars quilts housed in the museum’s permanent collection. Quilt turnings are in many ways a pictorial history of lives and experiences told from the Quilters themselves. Quilts have a long history of not just being created and utilized for warmth, but as works of art. Each program includes a rare opportunity to experience a behind-the-scenes visit to the museum’s collections area to view some additional quilts in the collection. Three sessions in the series, Oct. 30, Feb. 12 and April 24, held 2-4 p.m. each day. Registration required.
