61st anniversary. Explore the Scottish heritage, visit the clan tents and shop at the Scottish and Celtic merchant booths. Enjoy the traditional features of Scottish Highland games, such as massed bands, pipe band exhibitions, individual piping, heavy athletics and highland dancing. Join in the children’s games at the Caber Toss and “Shoot the English Knight.” View performances of Scottish Highland and country dancing, beautiful Celtic bands throughout the day and take old-fashioned pleasure in viewing the “hielan’ coos” (highland cattle) exhibition and blacksmith demonstrations all day and sheepherding demonstrations. Participate in “the Scots vs. the Irish” tug of war competition following the Opening Ceremonies. Visit the British car exhibit and see great examples of 1959, 1961, 1963 and 1967 Austin-Healey 3000s; 1950, 1965 and XJ6 Jaguars; 1970 and 1978 Austin Minis; 1953 MGTD; and 1969 and 1978 MGBs.
