Santa's Arrival and Tree Lighting

March16

Santa Claus will make a grand entrance this year, greeted by hundreds of tiny bells jingled by children eagerly awaiting his arrival. Prior to Santa's arrival, children and families will enjoy face-painting, balloon artist and caroling and Mrs. Claus will help everyone get in the holiday spirit with a reading of the Polar Express. More than 30 of Santa's little helpers from Spokane Fantasy Flight will fill the atrium. When the story concludes, children and elves will jingle their bells, wishing for Santa to arrive. If they wish hard enough, Santa will magically appear at the top of the escalators. Led by elves, Santa will make his way down to the atrium to join Mrs. Claus. Then, with a "Ho, Ho, Ho" he'll light the 10,000 LED lights on River Park Square's 50-foot tree. Santa will then draw the name of one lucky child who will come up to the stage and be the first child of the season to sit on Santa’s lap. Believe tickets will be available prior to Santa’s arrival to enter the drawing to be the first child of Christmas. The event will conclude with caroling and photos with Santa.
