Reading, discussion and book signing of his debut book, “Painted Horses,” brings to life the American West on the cusp of change. It is the story of a young woman on a journey to tame a wild landscape, the tide of progress in the middle of the “American century” and a beautiful passionate love story. Reminiscent of the work of Wallace Stegner, Thomas McGuane, and Annie Proulx, the book sings a love song to the horseman’s vanishing way of life, and reminds us that love and ambition, tradition and the future often make strange bedfellows.
