Sept. 5-7. The Northwest finale to the Bluegrass/Americana Roots music festival season. Hundreds of traveling festival goers arrive to the picturesque natural wonder of Pend Oreille County, Washington, set up camp for three days to watch top notch regional performers and maybe participate in one of the abundant campground jams. The lineup this year will include: Blackberry Bushes String Band, Wild Coyotes, Howling Gaels, Panhandle Polecats, Western Reunion, Bridges Home, Washington Bluegrass Revue, BlueStreak, Dan Maher, Convergence Zone, Brown’s Mountain Boys and the Afterthoughts. Some of the other activities include: Workshops: They are presented by the performers and focus on their individual talents. Workshops in various instruments, vocals, song writing and are always a great experience for aspiring musicians. Band Scramble: In a band scramble, musicians are randomly mixed and have only one hour to come up with a creative band name and rehearse two songs to present to the audience. Open Mic: bring your own group or get together with some folks from camp and have a chance to show the appreciative audience your best songs. Picking Contest: the best open mic performer will receive a prize and a chance to perform on the big stage next year.
