July 29-30. Fairchild Air Force Base is planning an open house and air show. This two-day event will feature the Thunderbirds, the U.S. Air Force’s premiere aerial demonstration team performing each day from 3-3:30 p.m. In addition to the Thunderbirds, the show will also include standing and flying demonstrations from a variety of military and civilian aircraft, parachuting and more. Gates open daily at 10 a.m. and close at 4 p.m. Coolers, firearms, weapons, fireworks and drones will not be permitted into the event. Items allowed: only bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC not to exceed 12”x12”x6”, small clutch bags the size of your hand, one-gallon clear plastic Ziploc bag, a plastic beverage bottle with seal intact and empty, reusable bottle (free water stations inside), foldable chairs, strollers. Additionally, drugs of any kind, including marijuana, are not allowed on federal property. Air show guests must consent to security searches and all bags will be checked upon entry. Carpooling is encouraged as parking is limited.
