“Scheherazade” enraptures the senses and consumes the soul. A visual feast of exotic scenery and costumes showcase Dennis Spaight’s sensual choreography. Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s sweeping dramatic score rounds out a uniquely memorable interpretation of the classic tale “1001 Arabian Nights.” The company also sets eyes and ears on fire with EBC artistic director Toni Pimble’s exciting new choreographic interpretation of Maurice Ravel’s “Bolero.” The evening includes “Idyll for Eight,” an exploration of partnering and pointe work choreographed for the Company in 2006 by former EBC dancer Melissa Bobick, and Toni Pimble’s delightful partnering study “Two’s Company.”
