New Year’s Resolution Help
To provide guidance, support and information about topics that may be on your list, there will be several specialists to help you out. 11 a.m.-noon, SNAP will be here to teach how to clean our homes with environmentally friendly products as well as hands-on demonstrations. Make your own “soft-scrub” to take home and get started. 12:30-1:30 p.m., The Paleo Diet has changed the lives of thousands of people. As gluten, legumes, grains and dairy are eliminated from the diet and meat, nuts, fruit and vegetables are emphasized with herbs and spices creating delicious dishes. Learn from first-hand experiences of those who have made the change and felt the positive difference. Take home a helpful hints sheet as well as try a few Paleo treats. 2-3 p.m., Spending more quality time with family seems to always be on the list of resolutions at our house. Here to give guidance and answer questions about starting a Family Game Night is game expert Kyle, Uncle’s Game Story manager and father of four children under the age of 11. Afterwards, try out new games and get more suggestions in the store. 3:30-5 p.m., If you are like thousands of others out there, you would like to be more involved by volunteering in your community, but don’t know how to start. Several non-profit businesses will be available to answer your questions, explain their organizations and get you signed up as a volunteer if you choose to. Representatives from Meals on Wheels, Lands Council and Women’s and Children’s Free Restaurant, SNAP and Big Brothers, Big Sisters will all be here to help.
