This month’s selection is “Orphan Train” by Christina Baker Kline. Vivian Daley, a young Irish immigrant, was one of the thousands of abandoned children carried on the “orphan trains” from the East Coast, in 1854. Years later, 17-year old Molly Ayer, a community service worker trying to keep herself out of juvenile hall, is helping Vivian to clean out her memory-packed attic, and discovers that they aren’t as different as they appear.
