The Traveling Vietnam Wall
Oct. 3-6. The American Veterans Traveling Tribute brings the traveling wall, 360 feet in length (only 20 percent smaller than the original wall in Washington, D.C.), and carries the names of 58,261 service members who died in the war including 84 service members from Spokane. Each day starting at 1 p.m., the names of the fallen Spokane-area Vietnam Veterans will be read, with a ringing of The Liberty Bell, which is a replica cast from the original mold of the Liberty Bell. Two laptop computers with database as well as two hard copy wall books are available to assist in locating names on The Wall. Open 24 hours a day, free and open to the public. There will be free shuttle bus transportation from Life Center Church, 1202 N. Government Way, on Thursday, noon-6 p.m. and Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Shuttle service from Palisades Christian Academy, 1115 N. Government Way, on Sunday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
