Pianist Mark Salman
This concert features the great vigor and sensitivity of an international Steinway concert pianist who lives in Washington state and is a graduate of The Julliard School, Mr. Salman’s performances have taken him to Europe, Asia, Canada and throughout the United States. He is Senior Academic director of Seattle Conservatory of Music and teaches students from middle school age on up. Besides his wide ranging repertoire, Salman is perhaps best known for his expertise on Beethoven, having performed the complete cycle of the 32 piano sonatas on both coasts as well as in over 18 broadcasts on radio and television. Salman is regularly heard as a concerto soloist with many northwest orchestras and symphonies all the way to Rhode Island. The program consists of Spokane’s introduction to Mark’s breath-taking interpretation and performance of several of Beethoven’s Thirty-two Piano Sonatas. Salman will also conduct a master class at the Gallery on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 11 a.m. The public is invited to observe Mr. Salman working with several area students.
