May 16-19. Events begin Thursday with Rock N’ Roll Heaven at 7 p.m. at the historical Panida Theater with performances from Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Ray Charles impersonators. Friday events start with a free barbecue at Mac’s in Sagle from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. The Vintage Car Parade is Friday evening at 6 p.m. which starts at the Sandpoint High School after they stroll downtown and down First Avenue. The famous Free Street Dance, co-sponsored by Blue Sky Broadcasting, follows the parade and takes place between Second and Third Avenue on Main Street. The Friday Night Dance will be at the Bonner County Fairgrounds at 7:30 p.m. (doors open at 6:30pm) with The Lovin’ Spoonful whose hits include “Do You Believe in Magic,” “You Didn’t Have to be so Nice,” “Did you Ever Have to Make up Your Mind,” and “Summer in the City.” Also performing will be the fabulous Rocky and the Rollers. Saturday starts with the Car Show which runs 9 a.m.-3:45 p.m. in downtown Sandpoint. Enter your car in the car show for $40. Pre-registration is advised but not required. The Saturday Night Dance at the Bonner County Fairgrounds is happening at 7:30 p.m. with Sonny Turner, formerly the lead singer of the Platters, and his group will take to you back with songs such as “The Great Pretender,” “Only You,” and “Smoke Gets in Your Eyes.” Also Ronnie Dove, the Southern gentleman who was a country crossover will appear and has had a number of hits including “Right or Wrong.” Sunday, begins with the Aspirin Rally Run starting at 10 a.m. with a 5K Fun Run and Car Rally at 11:30 a.m.. Pre-registration is encouraged so packets and shirts can be accounted for. The cost for the 5K Fun Run or Car Rally is $18 which includes the famous t-shirt.
