Spatz will read from his new book, “Half as Happy,” which focuses on the self, the search for a personal truth and other tropes of contemporary literary fiction. Spokesman-Review columnist Vestal, who was raised in the Mormon faith, will discuss his debut book, “Godforsaken Idaho,” as it transports us to the afterlife, the rugged Northwest and the early days of Mormonism.
