“Behavioral Healthcare Services in a Changing Healthcare Environment”
Passage of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act in 2010 set into motion changes at the Federal and state levels designed to improve access, affordability and quality of healthcare. With more than 20 percent of the population in the U.S. suffering from a diagnosable mental illness in any given year, and with individuals who suffer from severe and persistent mental illness having an expected life span that is 25 years less than the general population, behavioral healthcare is a critical component within the overall healthcare equation. Join Christine Barada, Director of the Spokane County Community Services, Housing and Community Development Department, and Jeff Thomas, CEO of Frontier Behavioral Health, for this informative discussion. Breakout sessions will be held after the presentation.
