“Stereotypes: Really? Today?”
Spokane Community College’s Student NALS (National Association for Legal Professionals) Club and Student Awareness League (SAL) co-host the program. An information fair runs 8-11 a.m. Keynote speakers Shusmita Sen, an SCC English instructor; and Scott Finnie, an Eastern Washington University associate professor of Africana education, conduct an interactive workshop on stereotypes from 8:30-9:20 a.m. The workshop is followed by a presentation on hate crimes by Assistant U.S. Attorney Earl A. Hicks from 9:30 to 10:20 a.m.
