“Beauty and the Beast”
May 10-June 2. Written for Christian Youth Theater. Music by Jon Lorenz. Lyrics by Jon Lorenz and Paul Russell. Book by Paul Russell. Directed by Phedre Burney-Quimby. Belle is a girl who is dissatisfied with life in a small provincial French town, constantly trying to fend off the misplaced “affections” of conceited Gaston. The Beast is a prince who was placed under a spell because he could not love. A wrong turn taken by Maurice, Belle’s father, causes the two to meet. Fridays at 7 p.m., May 11 at 4 p.m., May 18, 19, 25, and June 2 at 1 p.m., and June 1 at 1 and 4 p.m. (signed for the deaf).
