The Inland Northwest Chapter of the American Red Cross is launching a monthly meeting for local volunteers serving with its Services To Armed Forces (SAF) program. The dual purpose kick-off meeting will include a “Get To Know Us” (GTKU) presentation for prospective new volunteers, interested community members and potential business partners, as well as allow current volunteers to network and stay informed about current SAF programs and projects. An open invitation is being extended to those who want to learn more about the Red Cross Service to Armed Forces program and explore ways to get involved. The Red Cross relies on the volunteer spirit and financial generosity of the American people to support America’s military families. Today, as always, the men and women of the American Red Cross continue to show our appreciation for the dedicated service and patriotic sacrifices of America’s military men and women and their families by being there to support them wherever they are and whenever they need us. Best known for its emergency communications network for members of the military and their families during times of crisis, the Red Cross SAF program locally includes Coping with Deployment classes, Reconnection Workshops, the Flat Daddy/Flat Mommy program, Visiting Vets, the Veteran’s Legacy Project, and Holiday Mail for Heroes. The Chapter is always recruiting additional volunteers who are interested in serving our military members, veterans and their families.
