“Nowhere to Go: HIV/AIDS Stigma in the Context of U.S. Mexican Deportation”

Andrew Pereira, psychology major and McNair scholar will be exploring issues and stigma, both inside Latino/Latina culture and outside, which entraps HIV positive men and women in a place that leaves them with very little help. Pereira will also examine the ways U.S. foreign policy perpetuates the problem, as well as some recent data which highlights the social injustice of both the policies and cultural stigma. Presented by Women’s Studies Center.
