No Coal Exports Hearing

If approved, the Gateway Pacific Terminal north of Bellingham would be the largest coal export terminal in the United States. All the trains delivering the coal would go right through Spokane. This could mean coal-filled trains rolling through Spokane every day, clogging traffic while spewing harmful coal dust into the air, to deliver tons of carbon polluting-coal around the world. The good news is you can help stop coal exports. The Army Corps of Engineers is deciding which impacts to consider as it reviews the permit proposal, and they’ve requested public input. This is your chance to say no to the terminal and speak out against the harm it will bring to our communities and the environment.
