The 10 unique films come from renowned filmmakers who search backcountry corners across the globe to submit their best work, and from grassroots filmmakers who take a video camera out on their weekend excursions and submit their best film short. The entries are juried by a panel of judges and the top selections are assembled into a 90-minute program. Proceeds from this event will assist with providing funding for Selkirk Outdoor Leadership & Education (SOLE) Fieldwork Experience programming, including their Winter Wildlands Alliance Snow School - the nation’s largest on-snow science program. SOLE’s aim to provide affordable and accessible outdoor education program including providing novel snow-based experiential learning opportunities for local public schools is noteworthy due to actual need. Purchase tickets online at www.soleexperiences.org/news/upcoming-sole-experiences/backcountryfilmfest/ Special pre-event VIP party tickets available at The Readery in Sandpoint.
