“The Black Candle: Deconstructing Kwanzaa”

Presented by Gonzaga University UMEC (Unity Multicultural Education Center). The Black Candle is a part of the African holiday tradition. Dr. Burnley, Vice President of Diversity at Whitworth University will lead a discussion regarding the meaning of Kwanzaa and myths about the holiday and the history behind the holiday. This program will provide a space for participants to ask questions and engage in conversation with Dr. Burnley.
