Heartsongs from the Edge of the World
P.o.P. (People of the Promise) Ministries developed as the “creative outreach” of Covenant Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) with the goal of providing musical and performing arts opportunities for those who are living in poverty. P.o.P. Ministries teamed up with SNAP to develop a choir of homeless families. Under the creative leadership of Rev. Michael (Redhawk) Rice-Sauer, the choir, named “The Voiceless” wrote and produced a CD (The Voiceless “Among Us”). P.o.P. Ministries gave birth to “HeartSongs From the Voiceless” which is now a not-for-profit 501 (c) 3 organization. P.o.P. Ministries and HeartSongs From the Voiceless will continue their mission of creating relationships through play in the performing arts between people of affluence and those living in poverty; lift up the true nature of homelessness by giving it a face and creating awareness that one out of four homeless Americans is a child under the age of 12; be a fundraiser that will provide the means to allow the Voiceless Choir to continue to give voice to the voiceless and power to the powerless.
